A 22-year-old man has been apprehended by the Upper West regional police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for allegedly defiling a 4-year-old girl in Wa.
The incident took place on a Saturday afternoon at an uncompleted building in the Banmaarayiri community.
The mother of the child reported that she had sent her daughter to Arabic classes on Saturday morning. However, when the child did not return home as expected, the mother became worried and went in search of her.
To her horror, she discovered her daughter at the uncompleted building, where she saw the 22-year-old man, partially clothed, with the girl in a compromising situation. The mother immediately raised the alarm, prompting concerned neighbors to intervene and apprehend the suspect.
