The following year, they doubled the number, reaching a milestone of 1,124 participants. Undeterred, the team set their sights higher and astounded everyone by hosting 3,811 individuals from around the world, including visitors from Canada, the USA, Bangladesh, and other African countries.
Their achievement caught the attention of many people. They were informed that the present world record of 815 participants for a single hike is held in Iraq. This realization inspired Jos Hike It to pursue the official title and gain global recognition for their efforts. The team contacted Guinness World Records, engaging in correspondence and exploring sponsorship opportunities.Despite their unwavering determination, securing financial support proved challenging.
Numerous proposals were submitted to companies and organizations, including prominent sponsors like MTN Nigeria and GloWorld, but the desired funding did not materialize. Disheartened but undeterred, the team remains hopeful and intends to explore crowdfunding options to meet the financial demands of this colossal project.
