NPP Primary: We’ll combine Ken-Alan votes to beat Bawumia – Ken Agyapong camp

The Ken Agyapong for President (Ken4P) campaign team has announced its intention to remain within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) despite unresolved matters stemming from the Super Delegates Conference. They have affirmed their determination to fight from within the party rather than exiting.

Former Second Vice Chair of the NPP, Sammy Crabbe, stated that they plan to combine their votes with those of Alan Kyerematen to challenge Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the November 4 primary.

Alan Kyerematen officially resigned from the NPP on Monday, September 25, and declared his intention to run as an independent presidential candidate in the 2024 elections.

While acknowledging that the NPP has its share of issues, Sammy Crabbe emphasized their commitment to remaining within the party and addressing these issues internally. He stated, “This party has issues. I will be the last to say there are no issues in this party, but we don’t believe in leaving. We belong here, and we will stay and slug it out.”

Sammy Crabbe expressed confidence in their ability to defeat Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming November 4 primary, emphasizing the importance of numbers in politics. He stated, “Politics is about numbers, and we count numbers to win. If you combine the votes of Alan and Ken together, Bawumia will be defeated. There will be no need for a second round.”

The decision to remain within the NPP and contest the primary reflects the campaign team’s determination to influence the party’s direction and leadership while addressing the internal issues they perceive.
