The reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year, Kidi has broken his silence over false stories about his health by a section of the internet.
Kidi, 29, who had some health complications prior to his U.S tour earlier was rumoured to have suffered a debilitating illness, probably a stroke which caused him to cancel the tour.In a response to the stories and debate over his health, the hiplife and Afrobeats artiste has debunked the rumours as false.
Addressing his fans and the public in a recent Instagram post, Kidi stated, “Unfortunately, a few bad actors took this as an opportunity to spread false stories that got a lot of you very concerned. While I do not want to give it any more attention, I want to categorically address that those stories were false.”
KiDi shared that he had to take time off social media to take care of himself. But during this time, he was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support he received from his family, friends, fans and the brands he works with.
“A little under two months ago, I made the painful decision of cancelling my tour to take care of my health that included taking time off social media. In that time, I have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from family, friends, fans and the brands I work with.
You all made me feel incredibly loved in this difficult period and I can’t appreciate you enough,” he shared. H also indicated that he was returning to doing what he loves most, creating music and performing for his fans.“I am glad to be back to doing what I love most; creating music and performing for you.
Thanks for sticking it out with me” he wrote before signing off with love and his name background earlier in February, The “Touch It” singer announced on that he was cancelling his North American tour due to health issues.In a statement on his verified social media account, the artiste said:
“Hi my loves, it is with a very heavy heart that I announce the postponement of my Golden Boy North American Tour. I understand how incredibly disappointing this news is for a lot of you.
The excitement that so many of you expressed about coming out to see me on this tour was heartwarming and I was really looking forward to this experience together.His label boss, Richie Mensah in a tweet on March 16 pushed back against claims that Kidi had suffered a stroke calling it “clickbait”.
The producer and artiste manager asked fans of the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year to ignore the rumours on social media.
“KiDi hasn’t had a stroke. Ignore the rumours and the clickbait,” he tweeted.
