Lawyer for Dafeamekpor discredits court bailiff’s accounts, says he lied

Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo, the lawyer representing South Dayi Member of Parliament Rockson-Nelson Etse Dafeamekpor, has contested the testimony of a court bailiff who claimed that Addo’s legal team refused to accept court documents on behalf of Dafeamekpor.

According to Addo, the bailiff’s account is inaccurate, and he has released CCTV footage from his office to support his claim.

In an interview with Alfred Ocansey on 3FM’s Prime News, Addo explained that he was not in the office when the bailiff arrived to serve the documents. He instructed the bailiff to contact Dafeamekpor directly to receive the documents, which the bailiff acknowledged. Addo stated that he was unaware that the interaction between the bailiff and his staff was being recorded by CCTV cameras.

Addo further clarified that the interaction between the bailiff and his staff was straightforward. The bailiff placed the court document on a table and left without waiting for Addo to return to the office. Addo’s staff informed the bailiff that Addo was not present and suggested that he wait for Addo to return, but the bailiff left the document and did not return.

The Supreme Court dismissed Dafeamekpor’s injunction application against Parliament’s approval of ministerial nominees by President Akufo-Addo, ruling that the application was frivolous and an abuse of the court process. However, Addo’s dispute with the court bailiff’s testimony remains unresolved.
