We won’t tolerate further delays in approving anti-gay bill – Minority

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has issued a stern warning against any further attempts to delay the approval of the bill on the promotion of proper human sexual rights and Ghanaian family values, commonly known as the anti-gay bill.

This warning comes in response to Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin’s motion demanding a second consideration of the bill, which would replace imprisonment with community service.

Minority Chief Whip Governs Agbodza emphasized that the Minority will not tolerate any actions perceived as delaying the process beyond Wednesday, the specified deadline for completing necessary consultations regarding Afenyo-Markin’s proposed amendments.

He warned that there would be no more tolerance for filibustering after this deadline.

The Minority’s stance underscores their determination to see the bill progress without further delays and reflects their commitment to advancing the legislation on its merits.
