Usher receives recognition from Amazon for achievements on and off the stage

Local, regional, state, and national dignitaries came together to pay tribute to the iconic American singer Usher at an event generously sponsored by Amazon.

Marking the 25th anniversary of his New Look Foundation at Clark Atlanta University, Usher was honored for his remarkable musical accomplishments and his significant humanitarian contributions.

Mayor Andre Dickens had the privilege of presenting him with the prestigious Phoenix Award, recognizing Usher’s outstanding achievements and his unwavering commitment to making a difference in the community. Additionally, Usher was bestowed with a plaque on the esteemed Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame, commemorating his indelible impact on the music industry.

Terreta Rodgers, Head of Amazon’s Community Affairs and a proud alumnus of Clark Atlanta University, lauded Usher for his philanthropic endeavors and pledged $25,000 in support of the New Look Foundation’s vital initiatives.

Further commendations were bestowed upon Usher by Fulton County Commissioner Natalie Hall and Georgia State Senator Sonya Halpern, who bestowed upon him the esteemed title of “Outstanding Georgia Citizen,” recognizing his exceptional contributions to the state and beyond.

The event served as a heartfelt celebration of Usher’s remarkable legacy, highlighting his enduring influence as both a musical luminary and a dedicated humanitarian.
