The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on all ministers and government appointees to follow the example set by former Trade and Industry Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen in highlighting their achievements in their respective sectors.

This charge was issued by the General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, during a press conference held on Tuesday, September 26, as the party officially reacted to Kyerematen’s resignation.

Alan Kyerematen, in his resignation announcement on Monday, September 25, had emphasized the significant accomplishments he achieved during his nearly seven years of service in the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He mentioned key achievements, including the establishment of the One District One Factory (1D1F) initiative, the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) headquarters in Ghana, the development of strategic anchor industries, and various business development programs.

Justin Kodua Frimpong urged all ministers and government appointees to emulate Kyerematen’s proactive approach in promoting the achievements in their sectors. The NPP believes that highlighting these accomplishments will help demonstrate the party’s commitment to governance and development.

Regarding Kyerematen’s resignation, Mr. Kodua Frimpong responded to some of the claims made by the former minister and emphasized the party’s determination to retain power in the upcoming elections to achieve the goal known as “breaking the 8.” The NPP is focused on maintaining its political dominance and delivering on its promises to the Ghanaian people.

This development highlights the NPP’s strategy to showcase its government’s achievements and maintain unity within the party despite Kyerematen’s departure. The party aims to position itself favorably for the 2024 elections and continue its governance agenda.
