We must strategically overhaul Ghana’s structures – Oppong Nkrumah

Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has called for a strategic overhaul of the country’s structures to ensure it is prepared for a forward-looking future.

Speaking at the International Advertising Association’s (IAA) 6th Africa Rising Conference, Oppong Nkrumah emphasized the critical need for Ghana to adopt innovative and adaptable structures.

Addressing the theme, “Building Future-Ready Brands,” the Minister drew parallels between the nation’s evolution and the strategies employed by corporate brands navigating a changing landscape.

He stressed the importance of articulating Ghana’s overarching purpose, a process that requires confronting difficult questions and making bold decisions that benefit the country.

“Just as we are asking corporate brands to introspect and answer these critical questions to shape their purpose and be future-ready, we as a nation must do the same,” Oppong Nkrumah stated.

He emphasized that to be future-ready, Ghana must be willing to take tough decisions and venture into new paths, regardless of whose interests may be affected.

“We work for Brand Ghana, not political parties, religious groups, or ethnic divisions,” Oppong Nkrumah declared, emphasizing the need for a unified purpose that resonates with all citizens.

He called for a commitment to values such as community, integrity, responsibility, and entrepreneurship, urging a collective dedication to these principles.

The International Advertising Association’s Africa Rising Conference is a significant event on the marketing communications calendar in Africa.

It draws influential professionals from the MarCom industry across the continent and globally. The conference aims to nurture a dynamic MarCom industry in Africa while advancing the IAA’s agenda in the region.
