Mahama Promises Different Leadership Approach if Elected in 2024

Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reiterated his commitment to providing visionary and selfless leadership if elected in the 2024 presidential elections.

Mahama, who served as President from 2012 to 2017, has criticized the current Akufo-Addo government’s governance approach and pledged to bring about a change.

In a statement, Mahama stated, “Of course, I can assure you that the John Mahama administration from January 7, 2025, will be different. I promise visionary and selfless leadership and not the business-as-usual approach of the NPP.”

The former President also criticized the current administration for what he perceives as a decline in Ghana’s democratic reputation.

He urged Ghanaians to consider the importance of the upcoming December 7, 2024 election in restoring faith in the country’s constitutional democracy.

Mahama highlighted the need for accountability and expressed his view that the leadership of the Akufo-Addo government should be held responsible for issues such as corruption and deteriorating conditions during their tenure.

As he gears up for the 2024 general elections, Mahama emphasized the importance of safeguarding democracy and encouraged Ghanaians to stay engaged in the political process.

With the election season approaching, political discourse in Ghana is expected to intensify, with each party presenting its vision for the country’s future.
