The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially endorsed John Dumelo as the parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency
in preparation for the 2024 general elections. This endorsement followed a harmonious agreement where the two other contestants in the NDC primaries for the constituency agreed to withdraw from the race and support John Dumelo.
The announcement was made in a statement issued by the constituency chairman, Bismark Ahorvi Ayitey, on August 13. The party cited the need for unity and a consolidated effort to ensure success in the upcoming 2024 elections as the reason for this decision.
Earlier, movie producer Fred Nuamah had declared his intention to contest in the same constituency, leading to speculation about a potential rivalry with John Dumelo.
However, Nuamah eventually withdrew from the race and extended his full support to Dumelo. He emphasized the importance of party unity and
endorsed Dumelo as the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
