We are independent musicians looking for a label- Dope Nation.

Ghanaian musical duo of identical twin brothers, Dope Nation has expressed interest in signing on to an international label.

The group comprising Micheal Boafo popularly known as B2, and Tony Boafo known as Twist were guests on TV3 New Day with Berla Mundi and AJ Sarpong on Tuesday morning.

Recall that the duo did not renew their contract with Lynxx Entertainment after it expired in June 2020 and posted cryptic messages on their social media about the split.

However, the two who are currently under self-management said they were ready to collaborate with a record label but with an agreement that suited their brand.

“There are different types of labels so I think it’s fair enough that our label gets to work with another big label,” Dope Nation intimated  “We are producers at the same time we are writers and artistes so there’s a big conversation here unlike an artiste that just has songs so I think we have to talk about it, break it down and know what Dope Nation wants.”

Despite their interest in working with another label, they were of the view that it would take time and research to land a deal that worked for them

“Because we are on a trajectory, what we want is based on what we want the people to see and it is our life we are preaching so we would have to get people who can dig deep into our thoughts and amplify it.”

Questioned if they were limited by their current management hence the need to work with a larger label, Dope Nation said that was not the case but rather wanted to work with a team with more connections to amplify their music through distribution and promotions.

Dope Nation recently had their latest video, CLAP premiered at Times Square and the reception has been very welcoming.
