Delta State police have apprehended and arrested officers who were caught on video abusing a woman in the Agbarho community.
In a statement issued by their spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the police command stated that they are aware of the viral footage on social media of several police officers mishandling the lady.
“After watching the footage, it is the evident that the cops behaved in an unprofessional manner. “The command strongly condemn their behavior since neither the policemen nor anybody has the right to treat a citizen in such way.” The command will not allow such act as it is unjustifiable but also unforgivable”, DSP Bright Edafe.
“The guilty police officers from the Agbarho Division have been located, contacted, and taken into custody at the command center.” Members of the public will be informed of the outcome after their orderly room trial, as per the Commissioner Of Police, Muhammed Ali, who has ordered that internal disciplinary action be taken on them”.
