According to reports, a passenger died after being thrown out of the commercial truck in which he was riding.
The deceased, Henry Ankobea, was allegedly extricated from the vehicle at the Akyem Apedwa crossing of the Accra-Kumasi Highway in the Eastern Region.
He was allegedly on his way from Asante Bekwai to Accra when his condition deteriorated and he began having respiratory problems.
However, a bystander assisted the now-deceased in crossing the street and attempted to get him medical attention. Mr. Ankobea, on the other hand, passed out unintentionally.

Mr Ankobea’s blood sugar level at the time was about 26 mmol/L, according to the Accra-based Starr News, and he was immediately referred to Kibi Government Hospital at around 8:30 p.m.
“Around 4:30 p.m., I came across a sick passenger who, according to eyewitnesses, was abandoned by a commercial vehicle he was aboard at Apedwa Junction,” DS Armah said. They assisted him in crossing the road to the other side, but he died on the ground, and the people around him were terrified and helpless”.
“When I arrived, I hired a taxi and rushed him to Apedwa Health Center, but he was referred to Kibi government hospital around 8:00 p.m. He had some GH300 in his pocket, so I used some of it to cover medical costs.”

“So I called the family members; I called one man who identified himself as a military officer and said the man was his cousin. Unfortunately, the man died before the arrival of family members the next morning, and his body was deposited at Kibi mortuary,” said the police officer.
The Kibi Government Hospital’s administration confirmed the incident and stated that all efforts to assist the passenger were futile.The relatives of the deceased family members also arrived at the hospital to help with the arrangements for the body’s transport to Asante Bekwai.
