Some soldiers are reportedly besieging Ashaiman, an Accra suburb in the Greater Accra region, and brutalizing residents.

According to eyewitnesses he said on Tuesday, about 20 heavily armed soldiers stormed the area Tuesday morning and began attacking residents, preventing them from even leaving their homes.

“The soldiers are on the street, preventing people from leaving. “I should have left for work by now, but I can’t even get out the door,” an eyewitness told the Citi Breakfast Show.

“We gathered that a military man, a young man, was killed, I don’t know what caused his death, but some military have come to the area and nobody can go out,” said another eyewitness. They knock on your door, and when you open it, you will be slapped”.

“It’s extremely dangerous, and no one wants to go out…

They are attacking anyone they see with their boots and hands. They simply attack young men, and if you are a woman dressed in a certain way, you become a suspect to them.”

The soldiers’ invasion comes after a 22-year-old soldier with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) band was reportedly stabbed to death by unknown attackers Saturday morning in Sunyani, Bono Region.

According to sources, the soldier was on his way back from his girlfriend’s house in Taifa to his home in Zongo-Laka in Ashaiman when the unfortunate incident occurred.

According to Daily Guide Network, despite carrying a laptop and other electronic devices, the attackers only took his iPhone.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the soldier’s death and are seeking public assistance.
